Leo Mewing

Leo Mewing

Director and Founder

Leo is a highly experienced town planner with a proven track record of interacting with and influencing the built environment. His standing in the industry reflects a broad portfolio of projects demonstrating high-quality outcomes in Australia and abroad.

Leo’s key areas of expertise and interest are in preparing and managing development applications and in strategic land use planning, in both urban and rural settings. He is also a current expert witness in the Planning and Environment Court. His extensive experience across all facets of the profession enables him to provide insightful contributions to all projects.

Leo has had a lead role in the preparation of various planning schemes, local plans and strategic planning documents for local government throughout Queensland. He has also worked on many major development projects throughout Brisbane and South-East Queensland, including recent project experience extending to mixed-use, commercial, retail, entertainment, urban infill residential, greenfield residential, industrial and community developments.

Frances Cassaniti

Associate Director

Frances has professional expertise across a wide range of planning work, including development projects, strategic planning, due diligence advice and court appeals. She is acutely attuned to the operation of the development assessment system in Queensland, and has broad experience across community, residential, commercial, industrial and mixed use development projects.

Nicole Boulton

Principal Planner

Nicole has nearly twenty years’ experience in the planning and development sector within private, state and government owned corporations. Nicole is a skilled town planning and project management practitioner with broad experience seeking approvals for projects in infrastructure, residential, commercial, heritage, industrial, education, aged care, food production and rural industries. Nicole also volunteers her time as Chair of the Planning Institute of Australia’s Queensland Division Committee and Professional Development Committee.

Jared Stewart

Jared Stewart

Principal Planner

Jared provides high quality development advisory services, with skills in due diligence advice and planning risk evaluation, formulating application strategies and the management and delivery of development approvals of varying degrees of complexity. He is a commercially minded town planner with experience working on a diverse range of development types including townhouses, apartments, land subdivisions, commercial and industrial projects and infrastructure designations.

Ben Thomas

Senior Town Planner

Ben brings to Mewing Planning Consultants expertise from roles within Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government, which provide him with valuable insights to assist project strategy and outcomes. He possesses a strong knowledge of planning principles and legislative processes within a statutory and strategic context, and has extensive experience case managing and exercising delegated authority for complex development applications for a wide variety of application types.

Natasha Gouriev

Natasha Gouriev

Senior Town Planner

Natasha (BRTP (Hons)) has been involved with numerous aspects of urban planning and the associated approval framework, most notably on a number of unique projects within the renewable energy, industrial, character residential and commercial sectors. Natasha’s experience includes the preparation and management of complex development applications and obtaining development approvals from various government authorities within QLD. She has robust skills in the analysis of constraints across differing sites, providing due diligence advice to clients and interpreting planning legislation at State and Local Government levels.

Téa Tsang

Téa Tsang

Senior Town Planner

Téa (BUrbDev (Hons)) has worked in both the private and public sectors, and has a background in development assessment and urban design. She has an interest and skills in relevant software including InDesign. Téa is involved in a mix of signage, residential, industrial, mixed-use and master-planning projects across Queensland.
